FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Welcome to Florida Boatlifts width=

How do I determine what size lift I need?

Cradle lifts are sold by weight capacity.  You can get the dry weight of your boat from the manufacturer.  Add in the weight of all the gear, gasoline, water, etc. that you will be carrying and that gives you the “total” boat weight.

Where should pilings be set for my lift?
Every boat lift in the industry has different pile settings.  Decide which lift you are going to purchase, BEFORE your contractor sets your pilings.  Look under Pro-Lift or Prime-Lift for piling placement.

I have existing pilings, will Pro-Lift or Prime-Lift fit?
All lifts can be manufactured as a “special order” to accommodate existing pilings. Please refer to our Piling Placement Chart Adobe Acrobat Reader Required.

I have a wet slip and have to share the pilings. What do you have that will work for my situation?
Take a look at our Side Mount Brackets in the Accessory Section.

I am building a boathouse and want to use a Pro-Lift. Do you have brackets that will attach to my roof?
Yes, the Boathouse Roof Brackets work great.  They can be found in the Accessory section.

How can I determine the size of davits I need for my boat?
Approximately 70% of the boat weight is normally in the stern of the boat.  If your boat weighs 7500 lbs. (7500 x .70 = 5250 lbs), a pair of 5500 lb. davits would be the correct size.
